Music Appreciation Groups

The music appreciation group program offers clients the opportunity to enjoy music and experience its benefits while connecting and interacting with others. The music therapist facilitates the group and its members in actively engaging in various listening and music-making processes.

Participants are encouraged to be actively involved in musical activities, such as listening to music, discussing music and ‘musicking’. Preferred music can be brought along or requested by participants, and experiences shared with the group. Music-making activities, such as jamming, singing, dancing and drumming, are also offered to the participants.

Typically, the sessions are offered weekly and last 60 minutes, with one registered and highly trained music therapist, accommodating up to 16 participants.
